I arrived very early, because there was a glitch in the documents I needed to fill out ahead of my appt. I got through most of it but the continue button would not let me continue. I did not not dare to be late after a number of texts indicating I must NOT be late. The office waiting room has a captivating view of The City and a presented a pleasant first impression. I was ushered in early and waited only a minute or two for Dr MacGregor to come in. Another very positive first impression. He is professional, yet friendly and comfortable from the get go. He asked probing questions, listening to the answers and my concerns. He took great care to check areas I had concern over and ended up doing three biopsies. I'm not a fan of going downtown but I was very impressed by his thoroughness. So iI will follow through with the next appt.
I had a follow-up appointment with Dr. MacGregor and was so relieved to see that a stubborn skin condition—one that hadn’t improved with another dermatologist—had almost completely cleared up. When we discussed next steps, I mentioned getting preauthorization for a medication we’d talked about, but I had concerns about side effects, interactions with my other meds, and whether it was even needed right now. Dr. MacGregor took the time to walk me through it all and shared real-world outcomes from other patients, which was really helpful and reassuring. What I appreciate most is that Dr. MacGregor combines strong medical knowledge with real experience and good judgment. In a time when traditional sources of trustworthy medical guidance aren’t always reliable, having an experienced, thoughtful physician like this makes all the difference. I highly recommend Dr. MacGregor — excellent care and a great communicator.
Dr. MacGregor and his team provide a welcoming and professional atmosphere, ensuring that I feel well-informed and confident in the care I receive. Their dedication to my well-being has been evident throughout my treatment, and I am truly appreciative of the attention and support they have offered.
Very disappointing first visit due to poor communication and unprofessional interactions. After a quick initial evaluation by Dr. MacGregor, no treatment was provided. I was informed during appointment that treatments are usually not done on the first visit, which was never mentioned when I scheduled the appointment. I asked whether certain procedures might be covered by my insurance, as similar services have been covered by other dermatologists. The doctor said no but did not offer further explanations and suggests speaking with the office manager. When I did meet the office manager, the interation was very abrupt and uncomfotable. Without any greeting or discussion, her first words to me were, "We don't do insurance fraud here." This was insulting, unprofessional, and completely unwarranted for a basic insurance inquiry. Clearer expectations, better communication, and more professional staff interactions would greatly improve the patient experience. After my initial experience, I received a call from the office manager, Karla. Unfortunately, instead of offering a genuine apology for the rude interaction, the conversation focused on defending their office procedures. While I understand the need to clarify policies, the tone felt dismissive and more concerned with justifying their actions than addressing my concerns as a patient. What stood out most was the unnecessary insinuation that they “don’t commit insurance fraud.” This was never my accusation, nor was it relevant to the issue at hand. Bringing it up felt defensive and unprofessional, and it did nothing to rebuild trust. Overall, the follow-up left me feeling even more disappointed. A simple acknowledgment of the poor experience and a commitment to improve would have gone a long way. Instead, the call reinforced my impression that patient concerns are secondary to office protocol. I’ve canceled my appointment. I have no intention of going back to this office.
I've been a patient of Dr. MacGregor for close to twenty years. I am never left sitting and waiting to be seen for any longer than a couple of minutes, which I really appreciate. Dr.David gets right down to business and is very thorough and efficient. He's a very good doctor.
